• Cooking with Whole Foods Market

    As part of the Green Scale Exhibit closing, on Saturday, August 30 at 1 pm, Whole Foods Market Schaumburg will demonstrate how to use organic, locally produced ingredients in a simple dish. Samples are included. With school back in session, discover tips on packing a sustainable and nutritious lunch. RSVP’s required. All ages. FREE.

  • Closed for Maintenance

    Pavilion Aquatics Center indoor pools are closed for maintenance from 8/23-8/30. A closure takes place yearly so we may complete necessary tasks to provide the best possible facility for patrons. Based upon the busiest times of use, the outdoor pool will remain open at the following times:
    8/23-8/24 Saturday & Sunday: 7-10am
    8/25-8/29 Monday – Friday: 6-9am, 4-7pm
    Normal hours of operation resume on August 30 at 7am. Thank you for your patience as we improve our facility.

  • Touch A Truck

    Join us for our annual Touch a Truck event on Saturday, Sept 6. Located in the Pirates' Cove parking lot from 10am to noon, children have a great opportunity to touch, feel, and climb through, in and out of each every truck available. Vehicles include: fire trucks, police cars, garbage trucks, and many others. Don't forget your camera! Stop by Pirates' Cove for even more fun after Touch a Truck!

  • Open Gym Pickleball

    Now offering Pickleball as a part of Open Gym! Pickleball combines tennis, badminton and ping pong for a fun game. Played on a low-net badminton court, Pickleball is played with a perforated plastic baseball similar to a whiffleball and composite paddles. The game is EASY for beginners to learn and can develop into a quick, fast-paced, competitive game for experienced players. Currently running through November! Free for Pavilion Fitness members.

  • Rummage Sale

    When you do Fall house cleaning, don't forget your friendly neighborhood Rummage Sale on September 12 & 13 from 9am to 2pm at the Adult Center. Concessions will be available.
    Donations will be accepted September 2 - 9 only. At that time we will accept clean, usable clothing, household items and small furniture. Unattended items left outside will be discarded.
    Our Center relies on this event as a fundraiser to support our programs. We appreciate the community's support and hope to see you there!

  • Outdoor Fitness Challenges

    Join us for two outdoor challenges on August 16 and September 20 at two favorite Elk Grove Parks; Fountain Square and Roosevelt Park. We’ll show you how these parks have everything you need for a great workout and to have fun outdoors.  Directly following the Fountain Square Challenge we are offering a bonus 30 minute "Yoga for Athletes" class to demonstrate the benefits that Yoga can offer directly following a workout. Inclement weather will result in cancellation.

    Fountain Square Splash Park opens on Saturday, May 31! The Splash Park will be open for the 2014 summer season Monday through Friday from 12:30 pm - 7:00 pm and weekends from 10:30 am to 7:00 pm through August 24. Fountain Square will also be open on Labor Day Weekend.

  • Historical Museum Exhibit

    Weigh in on green practices such as recycling, landfill mining, and use of renewable energy. Over time we discover that being green does not always measure up as science and standards evolve. The exhibit features hands-on components and local environmental practices. Exhibit is on display until Saturday, August 30th. Admission is free! This exhibit is partially made possible by students from the Northern Illinois University Museum Studies program.

  • Big Band Live Music Night

    Join us for a lively, entertaining evening at Garden Terrace Banquets during Big Band Live Music Nights! Listen to Switch Time Jazz group perform fun, upbeat jazz and move to the music on the dance floor! The ambiance of the banquet room is fantastic with a cash bar and delicious treats. Big Band Live Music Nights are held every first Thursday of the month from 7-9pm. If you love jazz, dancing or listening to the music of a talented band; you are sure to enjoy this entertaining evening.

    Teens in grades 6-8 enjoy an entertaining night DJ music, dancing, basketball, contests, and more! Discounted passes for the dance are available and must be purchased in advance.
