• Illinois Distinguished Accredited Agency

    The Elk Grove Park District has been recognized as an Illinois Distinguished Accredited Agency by the Illinois Association of Park Districts (IAPD) and the Illinois Park and Recreation Association (IPRA). The two statewide associations administer the Illinois Distinguished Accreditation program with the goal of improving the delivery of park and recreation services to Illinois residents.

  • Fitness / Aqua Boot Camp

    Join us Saturday, April 26 at 8:30am at Pavilion Fitness for a signture Fitness/Aqua Boot Camp event consisting  of three rotations on land and the fourth in the water! Take this opportunity to see how aquatics fitness can fit into a high intensity workout. This is not your grandma's water aerobics class! Take this awesome challenge and enroll today. All ages are welcome. 

    $5 per person. Free for Pavilion Fitness and Pavilion Aquatics members.

    Join us Saturday, April 26 from 10 am - 2 pm at Olmstead Park for Earth Day family fun and activities including: crafts, games, traveling animal zoo, demonstrations, giveaways, tree climbing and more! Free admission!

    COMMUNITY RECYCLING including: electronics, bicycles by West Town Bikes (more information at westtownbikes.org under donations), and textiles by US Again (accepting shoes, boots, clothing, hats, bags, purses, belts, sheets, blankets, drapes, towels, etc. Details at www.usagain.com).

  • Rummage Sale

    When you do Spring house cleaning, don't forget your friendly neighborhood Rummage Sale on April 24 & 25 from 9am to 2pm at the Adult Center. Concessions will be available.
    Donations will be accepted April 14 - 18 only. At that time we will accept clean, usable clothing, household items and small furniture. Unattended items left outside will be discarded.
    Our Center relies on this event as a fundraiser to support our programs. We appreciate the community's support and hope to see you there!

  • Tree Exhibition 2014

    In honor of Arbor Day, you are invited to exhibit drawings, paintings or other renderings of the tree or trees. Work should be suitably framed and wired for hanging. Exhibit will be held at the Elk Grove Village Public Library from March through April. An application is required to enter your work in the Trees Exhibition.

    Visit our 5th annual Spring Fling at the Garden Terrace on Saturday, May 3 from 9am to 2pm. Purchase great gifts for Mom from our vendors just in time for Mother's Day!   • Starved Rock Water Cruise

    Starved Rock State Park is a world apart from anything else in Illinois. Feel it as you enter the park and wind through towering trees, admire amazing waterfalls, and explore 13 miles of trails. The Illinois River offers fishing, boating, extraordinary views and great places to relax. Tour includes a historical trolley ride, lunch at Starved Rock Lodge, and a 1-hour river cruise on "Belle of the Rock", an authentic paddle wheel boat. Enjoy the weather & take in breathtaking natural views!

  • Book & Gift Fair

    The Books Are Fun Book and Gift Fair comes to the Elk Grove Park District in May! Browse through the selection of books and gifts for all ages in the Pavilion Lobby on Wednesday, May 7 from 10 am to 7 pm and Thursday, May 8 from 10 am to 3 pm. Proceeds benefit the Elk Grove Park District Early Childhood program.

  • Historical Museum Exhibit

    Weigh in on green practices such as recycling, landfill mining, and use of renewable energy. Over time we discover that being green does not always measure up as science and standards evolve. The exhibit features hands-on components and local environmental practices. Exhibit is on display until Saturday, August 30th. Admission is free! This exhibit is partially made possible by students from the Northern Illinois University Museum Studies program.

  • Dancing with the Band

    Dance to the big band tunes of the Switch Time Jazz group every first Thursday of the month from 7-9pm at the Al Hattendorf Center. If you love to ballroom dance or just sit and listen to the music of this talented band. At the same time you can now enjoy billiards with your friends.

  • Jr. High Teen Dances

    Teens in grades 6-8 enjoy an entertaining night DJ music, dancing, basketball, contests, and more! Discounted passes for the dance are available and must be purchased in advance.
