School Programs

The Museum offers a variety of school programs for ages ranging from Pre-K to 8th grade. These programs are designed to be fun, interactive and meet the educational standards of the State of Illinois. Each program also includes a Teacher Packet complete with the program overview and pre- and post-visit lesson ideas. Please see the program list to download the Teacher Packets.

Booking a Program

Programs can be booked Tuesday through Friday 9am-3pm. Please schedule at least four weeks in advance. To book a program, complete the Education Booking Form below or call the Museum at (847) 439-3994 and provide the following information:

  • Name of school and teacher
  • Daytime phone number
  • Name of program interest
  • Top three dates/times requested
  • Group size and grade level
    • Farm Tales maximum is 45 students.
    • WWII and the Home Front maximum is 30 students.
    • All other programs maximum is 60 students.

Program Fees and Cancellations

Farm Tales programs are $1.00 per student. All other programs are $5.00 per student. A maximum of six (6) adults will be allowed to attend for free. Additional adults will be charged $2.00 per person. There must be one adult per ten students.

Outreach programs are $25.00 per class (up to 35 students). Schools outside of Elk Grove will be charged for mileage.

To cancel a program, teachers should call (847) 439-3994 to reschedule the trip based on availability. Please allow a 48-hour notice.

Farm Tales

There is a different Farm Tales program depending on the season! All programs are 75 minutes long. Maximum number of students is 45.
