Front Desk Renovation

The Pavilion Check-In Counter will soon be relocated to the front of the Membership office.  The relocation will improve service and better control the flow of members in the facility.  The project is expected to take two weeks to complete.  Work will be performed in phases to minimize the impact on operations.  The renovation timeline is as follows:

Week of 3/1 – 3/5

  • On occasion, check-in for members will be conducted manually instead of electronically.
  • The towel disposal bin will be temporarily located near the track entrance.
  • The blue railing adjacent to the group exercise studio will be removed.
  • The right side of Check-In Counter will be removed.
  • Tanning services will be suspended for two weeks.
  • Part of the torso machine area will be roped off; some machines will be out of service for one week and other machines will be moved.
  • A new counter will be installed in front of the Membership office.
  • Group exercise classes will enter and exit through the hallway doors that are adjacent to the laundry room.

Week of 3/8 – 3/12

  • The present Check-In Counter will be removed.
  • The blue railing will be placed in a new position to create an improved flow pattern.
  • The torso / back machines will be moved to the area previously occupied by the Check-In Counter.
  • Wall repairs and painting are completed near the area of the original Check-In Counter.

We are also pleased to announce that new carpet and “Konnecto” brand flooring will be installed.  The new floor projects will begin in late March and be completed in early April.  We will soon post details regarding this project.

We hope you will enjoy these improvements to the facility.  The Pavilion Fitness Staff would like to thank you in advance for your patience during this renovation project.

Aquatic center closed for construction

The Pavilion Aquatic Center is planning to close February 27 through March 21, 2010, in order for the Elk Grove Park District to comply with the Virginia Graeme Baker Act. Please note we are waiting for the final construction permits from the Illinois Department of Public Health. We remain hopeful that construction will take place as planned; however, if we hear differently, we will keep you advised.

The Virginia Graeme Baker (VGB) Pool and Spa Safety Act mandates the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) to enforce mandatory suction entrapment regulations for all pools and spas, commercial and private.   For over a year, we have been working with a professional aquatic company and the IDPH to become compliant with the law.  This process is more than just changing the grates.
