The Elk Grove Park District Receives High Score in Safety

The Park District Risk Management Agency (PDRMA) has awarded the Elk Grove Park District a score of 98.67 percent for 2015. The District first became accredited in 2008 and is evaluated every 3 years. The PDRMA Loss Control Review Process evaluates the effectiveness of loss prevention measures to reduce property, liability, and workers' compensations losses. This review is a comprehensive risk management assessment and education tool designed to measure the District’s management programs. The PDRMA consultant spends weeks conducting field inspections and observes the implementation of the District policies and procedures.  The consultant also contributes to the development of action plans to address property damage and liability losses. Anita Healy, Elk Grove Park District Safety Coordinator and Risk Manager oversees all safety programs and initiatives at the District. She is responsible for the administration and preparation that has created the strong safety culture. The District staff is highly trained and is the contributing factor in eliminating hazards and responding to accidents and incidents. The high score is also based on the vigilance of staff in inspections, preventative maintenance and the repair of equipment. The consistent training and performance improvement plans are a key to the successful outcome of this review.
