The theater program at the Elk Grove Park District is best known for its annual winter production. Shows take place every March and are comprised of children 6 - 18 years old. Every production is staffed by professionals from the theater world who bring a wealth of knowledge and energy to each show. Past shows include Aladdin Jr., Seussical Jr., Willy Wonka Jr., Alice in Wonderland Jr., High School Musical Jr., The Little Mermaid Jr., Annie Jr., Into the Woods Jr., Beauty & the Beast Jr., The Lion King Jr and Shrek the Musical.

Auditions and Rehearsals
Spotlight Theatre of the Elk Grove Park District holds musical theatre auditions open to ages 18 and younger. No prior experience is necessary, just a love to perform! Participants should be prepared to sing, dance, read and have a great experience with other performers on the stage.

Jacque Lueken is ecstatic to be a part of the Elk Grove Park District Art Centre staff! She received her BFA in Acting from Syracuse University and, upon graduation, moved to Chicago to work with Steppenwolf Theatre Co. as the Assistant Coordinator for their summer acting intensive, The School at Steppenwolf. Since moving to Chicago, Jacque has directed and taught with numerous companies including CCPA at Roosevelt University, American Theatre Company and After School Matters. Jacque served as a Mentor with Redmoon Theatre Company's Dramagirls Program, is a founding Collective Member of Ag47, the Anchor Artist for Teaching Lab Collaborations at The University of Chicago, and has spent the past three summers directing 15 productions at Long Lake Camp for the Arts (Spamalot, The Crucible and The Little Mermaid are just a few of her camp favs!).
