Tier Three Mitigation Plan Updates

Due to the rapidly evolving developments and public health implications in the potential spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) and our responsibility to the general public well-being, areas of the Park District are currently closed as a public health precaution in response to the recommendations from the Centers of Disease Control and the Illinois Department of Public Health.  All public access to these areas with respect to programs, services, and facilities are suspended effective Friday, November 20, 2020 at 12:01am.

Facilities

Pavilion Fitness - The gym is OPEN with modified guidelines and some restrictions. Face coverings must be worn at all times. In person group fitness classes have been paused. Group fitness classes and personal training sessions will be offered virtually. Personal Training may continue in person. Locker rooms are open for changing only NO showers. Pavilion Aquatics Center The therapy and lagoon pools are closed.  However, the lap pool is OPEN with modified guidelines and some restrictions.  Lap swimming is available by reservation only in the main pool. Only one person is allowed per lane. Face coverings must be worn at all times except for when lap swimmers are in the pool. Stroke Clinic participants can participate in a virtual dry-land strength and training program. Locker rooms are open for changing only NO showers. Learn more about the changes on their website.

Elk Grove Park District Preschool - The Preschool continues to remain OPEN with hybrid classes offering both in-person and remote learning. Please note: The Hattendorf Park will not be available to the public from the hours of 7:30am - 3:30pm, Mon-Fri for the safety of our children. Visit their website.

Fox Run Golf Links - The golf course is OPEN. Visit their website to book a tee time online or call (847) 228-3544 for booking with Elk Grove resident prices.

Audubon Indoor Skate Park - The indoor skate park is closed until further notice. Private Skateboard Lessons will continue in person by appointment. Call (847) 437-9494. Visit their website.

Sheila Ray Adult Center - Closed until further notice. Virtual activities will be offered. Learn more about the changes on their website.

Elk Grove Park District Preschool is OPEN for 3's & 4's classes.  Visit their website.  Please note: The Hattendorf Park will not be available to the public from the hours of 7:30am - 3:30pm, Mon-Fri for the safety of our children.

Garden Terrace at the Pavilion Closed until further notice. Future reservations can be taken at (847) 437-9494. Visit their website.

Jumps n' Jiggles & Carousel - is closed until further notice. 2021 Carousel Parties are being booked for groups of up to 25 people.

Elk Grove Historical Museum - Closed until further notice.

All other facilities are currently closed until further notice. 


Programs

Arts & Special Events - Special events are cancelled. Private Music Lessons will continue in person. Youth Art classes will go Virtual.  

Athletics - No indoor athletic leagues or instructional programs.

Dance - Dance classes will be fully remote.  Private dance lessons will continue in person with the option of going virtual based on the participant’s preference.  

School-Age Child Camp - During Tier 3 Kids Club Camp will continue to operate in person.  


Parks Updates

Park amenities - Including basketball courts, inline hockey rinks, outdoor skate park and playgrounds are open.

Tennis Courts - Open for singles and doubles match play. Please abide by the rules posted. 

Morton & Olmstead Park - Beginning the week of November 30, weather permitting, our Parks crew will be clearing weed trees and brush along the creek as part of an inhouse restoration project. Included in the work will be a "stack and burn" of wood material as a part of the cleanup. The work will be ongoing throughout the winter. 


During the Tier Three Mitigation Plan individuals may leave their residence to engage in outdoor activity such as walking, hiking, running, or biking and may go to public parks and open outdoor recreation areas if they comply with the social distancing requirements however some playgrounds are closed due to programming.
