Update, per Cook County Department of Public Health:
Clarifying language from the Cook County Department of Public Health (12/31/2021) states that the following are exempt from the order:
- An individual 18 years of age or younger who enters a business subject to this Order to participate in an activity sponsored by a school, park district, child care, or after-school program, or other organizations as defined in guidance by the Cook County Department of Public Health.
- Youth or adults participating in special recreation programs
- Spectators of indoor sporting events provided that no food or drink is being served and that they remain masked at all times
Masking requirements are still in place in these facilities. Other fitness facilities in these buildings, such as fitness centers for individual workouts or group classes for adults are still covered under the masking and vaccination orders.
On Thursday, December 23, 2021, the Cook County Department of Public Health (“CCDPH”) issued a mitigation order mandating proof of vaccination requirements for certain businesses and facilities in Cook County, as well as continuing indoor masking requirements. This order only applies to Cook County businesses and goes into effect January 3, 2022.
In response to the CCDPH order at this time Fitness Center Members we need to show your proof of vaccination when you check in at the Pavilion Fitness Desk starting on Monday, January 3, 2022.
Acceptable forms of vaccination proof include:
A CDC COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card; or
An official immunization record from the jurisdiction, state, or country where the vaccine was administered; or
An ‘app’ that provides a digital record of vaccinations; or
A digital or physical photo of such a card or record that includes the individual’s name, the vaccine brand administered, and the date the vaccination was administered.
Proof of vaccination will only need to be provided at the fitness center desk once.
Masks will be required at all times inside the Pavilion, regardless of vaccination status, in accordance with applicable State requirements.
The District is working as quickly as possible to understand all aspects of this new mandate and update our operations to meet the new requirements.
We ask for your patience and understanding, especially for our front-line staff members, as we transition our operations. The Park District is continuing to communicate with Cook County to ask for changes to the Order. Residents are encouraged to contact Cook County with any concerns at healthycook@cookcountyhhs.org.
