The Museum offers a variety of school programs for ages ranging from Pre-K to 4th grade. These programs are designed to be fun, interactive and meet the educational standards of the State of Illinois.
Early Childhood (Pre-K - 1)
Little Pioneers (90min): Visit our farmhouse and participate in period chores and games, students will compare and contrast their lives to those of pioneer children in the 19th century.
Harvest Time on the Farm (90min): Through a series of stories, hands-on activities and visits to our historical buildings, students learn why harvest time is important and how Thanksgiving evolved into an American tradition.
Early Elementary (Grades 2-4)
Growing Up in the 19th Century (2hrs): Visit our historic buildings and participate in 19th century chores and activities, students will compare and contrast their lives to those of children that grew up in Elk Grove. Focus will be on the reasons for migration and the pioneer lifestyle.
Historic Campus Tour (1hr): Students will visit our historic buildings. Learn how early immigrant settlers adapted and changed our community.
