Smoking

All Park District indoor facilities, including spectator/viewing areas are designated as non-smoking areas including e-cigarettes. In addition, Village ordinance no. 3074 is in full force and effect. This ordinance states that it will be unlawful to smoke in unenclosed public places, including all parks, playgrounds, school grounds, public sidewalks within 15 feet of a public entrance, and the public right-of-way (sidewalk to sidewalk) along the routes of special events. No person shall use (i) any electronic , mechanical, manual, electric, digital, voltaic, or other device, instrument or means capable of recording, producing, duplicating, reproducing, storing, copying, transmitting or displaying any visual, video, photographic, electronic, digital, recorded or other visual image, picture or representation, including but not limited to any camera, photographic camera, video camera, fiberoptic camera, motion picture camera, television camera, camcorder, or videotaping device, or (ii) any cell phone of any type or kind regardless of its capacity or lack thereof to produce a visual image, in any rest room, locker room, lavatory, bathroom, shower facility or dressing room, in any building owned, leased to, or under the control of the Park District.

Any person violating or disobeying any provision of this Ordinance may be arrested by police hereinafter appointed to enforce this Ordinance and may be fined upon convection of the sum of one thousand dollars ($1,000), which find may be recovered by an action in the name of the District in the Circuit Court of Cook County, Illinois.

Yard Waste Dumping

Our parks are for the use and enjoyment of all residents. Please be courteous and respectful of others. It is illegal to dump yard waste within park boundaries.

Fires and Grilling in Parks

No person(s) shall build any fire or cook in any of the parks or public places owned and operated by the District, except as part of a Park District program or if done by an affiliated group, and then only at the following location(s): the Community Athletic Fields, Lions Park, Audubon Park, or Mead Park, each of which have been designated for use by the affiliated groups for fund raising purposes, and further provided that proper permitting procedures of the Park District are followed. No person who has built any such fire within any such park shall leave the place where such fire was built without first completely extinguishing the same. A request to the Executive Director for a permit must be submitted at least two weeks prior to the event; affiliate groups shall submit the completed permit request along with a $250.00 cleaning deposit any part or all of which may be used by the Park District for the purpose of paying the cost of restoring the park to its condition prior to its use hereunder, at least one week prior to the event, for review. If the permit request is approved, that group will be issued a permit which must be posted by the affiliate at the site during the event.
