Elk Grove Village Park District

Parks Foundation

The Elk Grove Parks Foundation was formed as a Charitable Corporation to provide means for individuals and Corporations to make tax deductible donations to an organization which supports parks and recreation, in particular, the Elk Grove Park District. The Foundation will support parks and recreation not typically supported by property taxes. Parks and recreation is an important asset to the community, providing activities and services for all ages. It is well documented that communities with an excellent park district have lower adolescent crime rates and increased property values.

Our Mission

The Elk Grove Parks Foundation is dedicated to supporting safe and innovative parks and recreational opportunities for the Elk Grove Park District.

2024 Donors Include:

The Family of Cole Kilty – The family and friends of Cole host an annual Golf Outing to raise funds to benefit the Elk Grove Park District Parks Foundation and honor the memory of their son and brother. The 2025 Golf Outing details will be posted here when they are available.

The Family of Kyle T. Villano – A donation has been made to assist children who need financial assistance to play sports through a scholarship. Families need to complete a form at the Pavilion or Hattendorf Customer Service Desk to see if they would qualify.

Mikerphone Brewing in Elk Grove Village – Mikerphone made a one time donation with proceeds from the “Smells Like a Beer Festival.” This fundraiser benefitted the Elk Grove Village Youth Committee and the Elk Grove Parks Foundation.

Fundraising Events

Each year the Parks Foundation hosts events to benefit the scholarship fund. The proceeds from these events go directly to support at risk Elk Grove resident families. The scholarships provide full to partial funding for recreational programs for these families in need. In 2025 the events will include a Duck Race day at time TBD at Rainbow Falls and an appeals campaign. Foundation members and volunteers create and participate in the events. Your participation in Foundation fundraisers is greatly appreciated.

Ways to Contribute

The simplest way to contribute to the Elk Grove Park District is through cash gifts to the Elk Grove Parks Foundation. Creative gifts of assets can also include stocks, bonds, real estate, and personal property.

Making Donations

You are welcome to make a specific donation to directly benefit a specific program or facility of the Elk Grove Park District through the Foundation. For example: gifts have been made to directly benefit the Sheila Ray Adult Center and The Preschool. This is referred to as a restricted donation and the funds can only be used for the purpose intended.

Your gift can also give you the satisfaction of supporting work to preserve and enhance our parkland, natural resources, and historic sites. Depending on the arrangements you choose, you can also:

      • Reduce your income taxes
      • Avoid capital gains tax
      • Retain payments for life
      • Achieve no-cost, worry-free asset management
      • Increase your disposable income

Contributions

Creative gifts of assets can also include stocks, bonds, real estate, and personal property.

Various forms of requests to the Elk Grove Parks Foundation can be used that will give your estate a charitable deduction and guarantee that your legacy lives on in our community’s park system. Life-income gifts, such as gift annuities, charitable remainder trusts, and pooled income funds, can provide you with an income stream, significant tax savings, and the satisfaction of supplying our parks with vital long-term resources.

You may consider using retirement plan benefits to make a significant gift to Elk Grove Village parks through the Elk Grove Parks Foundation. The cost of your gift to your estate and heirs is often relatively small.

Two types of life insurance can be donated to the Elk Grove Parks Foundation for the benefit of our cherished parks: existing or paid-up whole and universal life insurance policies, and newly issued whole and universal life insurance policies.
